Back from this year's PLMA in Amsterdam, we are still full of impressions - great products, nice people, interesting conversations - all in all a successful fair! On 11th March 2011 a strong earthquake caused a tsunami of which the whole country Japan is heavily affected. We would like to express our solidarity with the country to which we are affiliated both in friendship and professionally. And above all, we want to express our condolences and our consolation to the people of Japan, who have experienced unimaginable suffering, and we hope for a soon improvement of the situation.

Attached a lovely postcard from kids from Kid's Life Ministry. In all there are over 50 children requiring additional sponsorship. We are looking forward to visiting the kids soon again.

For the cosy time of the year we offer you our duck breast. The half pre-cooked duck, skin-on, boneless, cut into strips and served with Asian vegetables tastes great with or without chopsticks... Preparation in oven: Preheat 220°C (convection oven: 200°C). Place the frozen duck on the middle of the oven, bake for about 30-35 minutes until crispy brown. And if you like it very crispy: Just before the end of the cooking time, switch on the grill for 5 minutes.

Baan Suay Long School

This year our friends and business partners Jan & Jim have built a schoolhouse with 4 classrooms in Nong Khai province, the North Eastern region of Thailand. The construction is scheduled to be complete in early December 2010. Baan Suay Long School provides an educational program from kindergarten to elementary levels for underprivileged students. Currently, there are 48 students and 3 teachers. The current schoolhouse was built over 30 years ago, in a deteriorated condition and damaged by termites. The school receives minimal financial support from the government and looks for contribution to build their new schoolhouse. We are glad to join Jan & Jim in contributing and supporting this school, and we are looking very much forward to visit the students upon one of our next trips to Thailand.

Back from the SIAL we are still full of impressions of a successful fair in a beautiful city: Interesting people, good conversation, exhibition highlights, such as new convenience products, innovative added-value food and unique packaging ideas. As always, there was much more to see as time was available ... Despite the difficult circumstances because of fuel shortages and the strikes, we look forward to the next SIAL.

Kid's Life - Our most important project in Thailand

This home for orphaned and abandoned children was already established in 1997. The children have got a home, moreover the chance to go to school, to college and the university. Meanwhile, 75 children aged three to eighteen years, call the Kid's Life their home. The sponsorship program was developed to cover the cost of education and medical care of the children, and the daily necessities such as food, clothing and shelter.
