The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent, non-profit, international organization that develops and manages internationally applicable environmental and social standards for responsible aquaculture. Independent certifiers test farms for compliance with the requirements. The products of certified farms are labeled with the turquoise ASC seal.
The Marine Stewardship Council is an independent, non-profit, international organization that maintains a worldwide certification program for sustainable fisheries. Independent certifiers conduct a lengthy process to test that the fisheries meet the standards of the MSC. Products from certified fisheries carry a small blue fish carrying the MSC logo.
